The Friends is a not-for-profit organization that lends support to the Suntree-Viera Library by financing projects not funded by Brevard County such as: Stellar Sellers, large print books, the summer reading program for kids, CDs, DVDs, landscaping, window washing, children's and teens' programs, window blinds, computers, support for volunteers, additional shelving and tables for books and computers, art exhibits, book sales, wall painting and other projects as needed.
Why belong to the Friends?
Membership means to donate via a membership form to assure that all of the money goes directly to only the Suntree/Viera Library; nothing else is required or asked of you. The revenue from membership and the contribution of used books are the chief sources of the funds that support these essential projects. At book sales members may buy books the night before the sale is open to the public. Friends also receive the quarterly Liaison newsletter by mail or e-mail. If you choose, you may also volunteer to help with book sales, be on committees or even serve as a member of the board of directors as an officer.
How may I join?
Pay dues on an annual basis in one of seven categories. Membership is renewed each year. Details for membership - and more information - can be found on this "membership info" page.
Everyone is asked to please contribute their used books at the circulation desk. Please ask your friends and neighbors to donate their books to resell at the semi-annual book sales. Thank you.
